Diamond & Pearl Blue Glass Antique Gold Ring circa 1820

Stunning Georgian diamond & pearl cluster ring.

Hand crafted in 18 carat gold & silver it is set to the centre with a gorgeous rose cut diamond

This sits above a blue glass dome that is surrounded by a halo of beautiful natural pearls

The central rose cut diamond is set in a silver star motive with a further six little rose cut diamonds in each corner

This is completed with elegant splayed shoulders and a grooved shank

The ring has a closed back typical of the Georgian / Victorian

This is a very special ring that is so comfortable and flattering when worn

  • The central rose cut diamond is 4.8 mm x 4 mm
  • 18 approx. 2 mm natural pearls
  • The head is 16.5 mm x 13.5 mm
  • It stands 7 mm proud of the shank
  • The size is Q (UK) 8.5 (us) it would re size
  • This Georgian ring dates to around 1820.

During the Georgian Era a new trend emerged in France, Bagues au Firmament, or Ring of the Heavens. These rings featured blue enamel or glass representing the night sky with pearl and diamond sparkling stars. Marie Antoinette was said to always wear a Bague au Firmament
