Description

This gorgeous 18 carat gold ruby and diamond ring is set in the stunning gypsy style, with two beautiful rich red rubies and three sparkling old cut diamonds. Historically created to obscure expensive diamonds and stones from thieves and pickpockets, original gypsy rings have a rich history and many stories to tell.

These fabulous stones are handcrafted in an elegant 18ct gold boat-shaped setting. The rubies are about 2.8mm, the centre diamond is about 2.8mm and the outer two diamonds measure 2.3mm.

The old European cut diamonds have a total weight circa 0.25g. They have a special charm found only in old cut stones, harking back to traditional making methods. They are clear, bright and sparkle beautifully. (Colour H. Clarity VSI.) This ring is fully hallmarked 18ct Gold in 1884 at the venerable Chester Office. It also bears the maker’s initials S.U.
